well it really depends. if you like a bigger screen get the dsi xl. i have a dsi, but i got it when dsi xl wasnt out. my little cousin has a dsi xl and he loves it. also, since both dsi and dsi xl have a camera, the dsi xl has a bigger screen, so can get more in the picture. me, personally i would stick to the dsi because the dsi xl is just to big to carry.
