Does a 99 Ford Taurus have a thermostat? If so where is it located?

With the colder weather the Ford quit heating. We just had the blower motor replaced and last year a new heater core was put in.

thermo is located in the housing where the upper radiator hose is attached I'd check to heater controls as opposed to thermostat Does the temp gauge show the engine is heated up? about 1/3 ?
