Whats The Best Diesel Exhaust?

1994 ford f-250 w/7.3 diesel.raw diesel smoke coming out of the exhaust. whats the problem?

    Before you change nozzles..Replace your fuel filters and air filter. Usually one or the other is at fault, we see this at work ALL the time.

It's probably time to clean or replace the injector nozzles.

it could b the mixture screw on the injector rail but do not touch if u dont know what u r doing

David b had a good an-sewer he has knowledge of that injection system. it was developed in partnership with navistar the company that manufactures the 7.3 for ford but if there is a problem with the oil (let's say foaming or low level) the engine will run rough or not at all. You mentioned grey smoke that is oil smoke. Fuel smoke is black. check turbo for possible internal oil leak it could be small enough to make it smoke but not run bad yet.
