  Chan... There are any number of reasons why an agency loses a client, but they fall into two broad categories. The single biggest reason? Poor customer service. Within this broad category are things like: producing a poor quality product or service; delivering a product or service that is not what the client (customer) asked for; failing to deliver a product or service on time or within the agreed upon price; not being honest with the client regarding what the agency can and cannot do; failing to keep the customer informed and involved as the product or service is being developed; not being available to the client to answer questions or offer technical assistance following the delivery of the product or service; not responding to the customer's communications, etc. The second most common reason is cost (price). The agency's price for the product it provides is not competitive with the price charged for the same or similar product by other agencies. While having a higher price than one's competitors won't necessarily result in the agency losing a customer, the higher-priced agency has to be able to deliver a product or service of a quality that is clearly superior to its competitors to assure the customer that the additional cost is worth paying. Clients may also be lured away from an agency by a competitor that offers the client more "perks" or that offers a price for a product or service that is discounted just long enough to get the client to leave the other agency.
