Do you know how to draw? I was thinking that you could major in computer science and minor in some type of art. Which school is best would be totally up to you. Especially since you have to consider location, cost, and which school could introduce you to the fields that peek your interest. Find schools that might have a great partnership with companies such as Microsoft and Disney, where students can do an internship. A while back Disney would go to career days and provide students with information on entering their summer programs. During this program you would stay on one of the resorts and study under one of the professionals. For example, you would be able to see exactly what it takes to go from plain white draft board paper to a movie that makes millions in its opening weekend. These programs are VERY competitive... STUDY HARD!!! Good Luck ;0) P.S.- you could go to ITT tech!! Just saw the commercial about a guy who wanted to make his own video games and took their courses. I don't know how this would hold up to certain companies, but something would be better than nothing.

You can work at these companies without specificially studying computer science, but that is always an easy 'in.' If you want to make films, look into film studies, technocultural studies, art, graphic design...anything where you will cultivate those skills. You should also pick a college where you can change your major fairly easily that if you need to do that you can. Also, top companies such as these highly target top institutions--public and private-- so think of applying to such schools. Big schools like the University of California system (where I went) are awesome because they are notoriously good schools and have tons of programs you can choose from.

call their HR departments and ask them if they have intern programs for college or high school kids first. in many cases it's not where you went to school, it's how good a worker you are. secondly, ask them where they recruit for workers. As a fall back, any college you chose you should look at who recruits at the university if your desire is to get a good job or go forward to a grad program.

So you are saying you want to sit behind a computer for 10 or 16 hours working on making a character move his arm, then realize you have to do it all over since the director changed the script? My advice: leave this for the geeks.
