What are the largest colleges in and around the Los Angeles area?

What is going on with community colleges in the Los Angeles area?

  • Is it true that a lot of students these days are taking 1 or more classes at different colleges because of budget cuts? I'm 27 years old, just recently moved to Van Nuys, CA, ...show more

  • Answer:

In some cases, yes. All depends on the major. It's not just LA. It's everywhere. I know many students who can't take classes at one community college because they don't have the classes they need because of budget cuts, so they go to the other one in the area that has those classes so they can get the credits. Good luck!

If you get into the nursing program at Los Angeles Valley College, you will be able to complete all of your nursing credits at this school. All public school nursing programs in California (community college, cal state system, and uc system) have impacted programs. To be considered for the nursing program at LAVC, you need to apply in Sept for the spring semester or April for the fall semester. You have to be completed with your nursing prerequisites before applying (or in progress). The prerequisites are all listed on the LAVC website.
