The las Vegas natural History museum!!! i believe teachers get in for free in not so sure? Its awesome we have different activities every Saturday and we also have animal encounters for example we could bring out one of the many live animals we have. Saturdays we also have a live shark feeding at 2:00pm. our museum has alot of kid friendly things and a list of summer activities. some of our live animals include a hedgehog, bearded dragon a number of snakes and lizards and even live sharks and sting rays. we also have a tank with all the finding nemo characters( they are real live fish) Check it out , at www.lvnhm.org. we just opened our new exhibit. i really hope you come and visit us soon, don't forget to ask about the memberships.

Discovery Museum is a great one like lostvegas said, It has a ton of hands on exhibits that my girls loved when we lived there, If I recall they had one section where you could pet a stingray and a small shark. If you can go to the tourism building near the end of the strip (south) they have pamphlets on lots of great museums and small attractions including one I loved in Henderson that had an entire 1950's neighborhood recreated to walk through and trains. Just stay as far away from the "zoo" as you can that place goes beyond depressing.
