  I hate surprises, too...especially for vacays. Nothing can ruin a vacay faster than to start it off with a nasty surprise. You can generally do better on your own booking. Call Aqua Waikiki directly yourself. It is one of my favorite hotels and a choice when I visit Honolulu. Call direct...and most of the time, they will give you a free upgrade. Also try The Breakers. This is another very nicely located hotel...and offers much what the Aqua does. All rooms have a fridge and stove. And The Breakers is a little less in price than Aqua, but is located much nearer the beach. It sits just behind one of the oceanfront hotels. Very clean and very functional. Both have pools. The Breakers is about $135-$150, and Aqua is about $150-$185... Check ALL airlines...and don't forget to check Hawaiian...or get a quote from any of the discount sites...
