How can i get rid of the static noise in my cd player?

How do i get rid of engine noise through my cd player?

  • i recently put in an aftermarket stereo ,after all the connections were made i turned it on and heard a buzzing noise . i re-checked all my connections but its still the same.

  • Answer:

Try to keep all ground wires short as possible. The connection of your ground should be lightly sanded to bare metal, for good connection. Your signal wires (rca) and power wires should run on the opposite sides of the car. Don't be cheap about your wiring. Use the highest grade you can afford. Do not coil excess wires, it will create some type of electric field. If you have lots of time on you hands, i would suggest that you hook up the minimal amount of units. As you add more items you will discover what unit is making the most noise.

try to ground your cd/amp to a different location if this doesn't help try to purchase a ground isolator or radio noise suppressor at a local electronics store or radio shack
