Can I take a duffle bag on as my carryon on a Delta Flight?

    I always take a backpack, on Delta and other airlines, along with a standard carry-on size bag. No one has <<ever>> had any problem with that. As long as the larger item is within the size limitations (total of 45 inches if you add length, height and depth). That might be a bit difficult on a non-rectangular duffel bag, but figure it out the best you can. The main issue is just size. All bags are just containers for "stuff." What the bag is called, or whether it is a rectangular or rounded bag is not relevant.

You can take a garbage bag as a carry on as long as it fits Deltas carry on dimensions. Backpacke, tote bags and duffle bags are acceptable. Deltas dimensions are 22x14x9. Those are maximums. If they "box it" (that is a box of those dimensions) and it doesn't fit you will have to pay to check it.

They give measurements. As long as it fits in those measurements, and does not contain any of the prohibited items, you should have no problems.
