Can we exchange one dollar coins at the money exhange?

  • I know we cannot exchange coins but .. would 1 dollar coins be considered another coin or similar to dollar bills? I need to exchange US money for currency.. Thanks!

    Coins are legal money too and i m sure u can change to notes too,but still check with any bank.I live in thailand and we can change coins to notes.If u can not change coins to notes than just deposit the coins to your savings bank and withdraw back in notes.

Basically, you cannot exchange coins. E.g., Canada no longer uses $1 and $2 bills, having changed to coins. So, the smallest Canadian bill is now the $5. If you were coming here, you might get some when you bought the Canadian money, but you could not exchange them for US bills later.
