    The birds evolved during the life span of the dinosaurs, some 150 million years ago in the Jurassic era. The first bird like fossil to support this theory is called Archaeopteryx. Which shares characteristics of reptilians, and then feathers like a bird. More "proof" is a theoretical map of a T-rexes brain, which has indents on the interior skull matching those imprints of modern birds, these indents are made from the part of brain that gives birds the ability to fly. These indents prove that T-rexes where slowly evolving into birds, since they match. How did they, through genetic mutations caused by changes in the environment, and the need to survive. An god/s will to want them to evolve.. Birds didn't just magically pop up, dinosaurs slowly evolved down into them, hope that helped.... Peace

There were some ornithischina dinosaurs that had modified forelimbs. They were good runners. They developed feathers over time. You could imagine something like archaoepteryx, hesperornis etc.
