How do I shrink a file size?

How do you shrink a picture's file size without shrinking the actual picture?

  • I'm trying to upload a JPG image on a website and its telling me that "the image is too big"

  • Answer:

You can do it with microsoft Paint Start/All Programs/Accessories/Paint. OPen Paint and click on File/Open. Navigate to the folder where the pic is and click Open. Click the Image Menu at the top and select Stretch/Skew Image , Choose a percentage figure to resize the image. To avoid distortion, choose the same percentage for the horizontal and vertical stretch Click OK. Once you have the desired size, click File, then Save or click Save As... to prevent overwriting the original image. N.B.Clicking File, then Save will overwrite the old image, leaving you only with the image you have resized. To keep the original, save the resized image using the Save As... command and change the name of the image. Resizing an image slightly reduces its quality. Good day♣♣
