How can I download all the email attachments at once?

How can I quickly download large quantities of email attachments?

• I can't believe that I have to download and save them separately. Just got several emails with up to 40 photos attached to them. I am using Y! Mail.

The speed at which the email/s will download depends entirely on a number of influential factors, such as the bandwidth of your connection to the mail server at your ISP, the power of the mail server to serve up the mail from your inbox on the server. The sheer volume (i.e. number of attachments and their size too) of mail to be downloaded, the workload on the actual mail server at the ISP end of the connection, the internet traffic locally i.e. because broadband is a shared or contended service. Meaning you also share the potential bandwidth with as many as 50 other users at the BT exchange and this can also affect connection performance too. **Your only other option apart from a long tedious session of downloading each email one by one. Is to get the image files zipped up and then downloaded from a shared server out on the internet. There are many public sharable spaces where you can put your files or friends could place theirs for you to download. If you do it this way you could use the FTP service (file transfer service) this is specifically designed for the downloading of larger files. Email was never really designed for the downloading of large file attachments where as FTP is specifically for this purposes and thus is a faster option too often.
