Uhm, Horse Chestnuts aren't edible so am not entirely sure why you would want them for medicinal purposes . . . unless you mean sweet chestnuts which are edible. [1] this explains the difference. If it is chestnuts, for eating, that you are after just go to Sainsbury's - they are one of the largest supermarkets in the UK and they have stores everywhere. You can buy bags of chestnuts 400g for £2 [€2.50]. There's a Sainsbury's Local in Paddington Station which will stock Chestnuts this time of year.

It's a bit past the season to find horse chestnuts lying around. Late August into September is the best time. However have a look in Hyde Park/Kensington Gardens. There are a number of horse chestnut trees there.
