Most cruise lines require you to be 21 in order to work on them. Very rarely will they accept anyone younger. If you're wanting to work on a ship, you'll need to go through a recruiting agency. Basically, every country has different agencies that they hire through. The cruise lines pay the company to find people to work for them, so you should never pay an agency. If a company is asking for money, it is most likely a scam. The best way to find a good agency is to ask around everyone you know. Let your parents know you're interested in it. Next time you go on a cruise, ask the American crew which agencies they went through. You would be surprised once you start asking around that someone knows someone who worked on a ship. Be prepared for hard work. The crew really do not get any days off during their contracts, and you will be sharing a room. Just do lots of research, and make sure that you understand what you're getting yourself into. That being said, of course, it is still fun, and you can travel lots and see lots of the world. I worked on ships for 2 years, and had a great time, but it was something that I could only do for a short time. Anyway, good luck with it!

Most cruise lines require all employees to be at least age 21, and to have 2 years of applicable experience on shore for the job assignment on board. You can go to the cruise company web sites, follow the links to "employment", and find out more.

According to this site http://www.cruisecareers.be/faq/ they hire beginning at 16-18, but stop and think - in all of your cruises (and that's a LOT of cruises in only 4 years), have you ever seen anyone close to your age working there? I don't think I've ever seen anyone who looks younger than 21.
