As a Cruise Director with 15 years experience I'll tell you that it is not as hard as you think. However, beware of sites that tell you they'll find you a job etc. They won't. Period. You need to put a good resume together and make sure that you have people skills/PR of some sort and know that you have the nature to handle living in close quarters with your workmates and being with guests. The glamor part is really in the Entertainment department - (less hours and more time to explore ports and enjoy public area privileges). DO NOT romanticize the idea of cruise ship travel - working in other departments like housekeeping/food and bar will have you working heavy hours and the pay is not that great. Go to the cruise line websites and look under employment tabs. Be aware that yours will be one of thousands of applications. You need to have a strong looking resume and be young 21-35. If you're really serious then you can find a reputable agency who can assist, Hope that helps..

Once you have finished I suggest you have a look online for cruise ship companies and see if they have recruitment pages. Some do, and you can apply there and then. Be careful, because there are scammers out there looking to fleece people out of money by claiming to be a cruise ship recruitment company and charging you an admin fee. Don't be sucked in by these people. Seabourn (luxury cruise ship company) has an extensive careers page. I know they have lots of available jobs on cruises that might interest you. Good luck in your search for a career on cruise ships. I hope it all goes well for you!

Almost all cruise lines require their employees to have at least 3 yrs of relevant work experience.

I would go on line and see if there websites list anything and start there. If they do not get a contact number from the website and give them a call.
