I haven't been on the Gem, but I've been on another Norwegian ship, and I didn't like it as much as Celebrity or Royal Caribbean. The food wasn't up to par for me. Also, I sailed out of Boston in Sept. and the seas were very rough. You might want to take some sea sickness medicine with you, although they do offer it for free at the customer service desk. Have fun!
