Answer:
as for the hydrogen bus jeff left out intentionally they are green but use hydrogen fuel produced in quebec city truck up over 5500km to vancouver which might just cancel every effort to lessen the CO2 emissions. but we won't hold it against you. tell me jeff how much suffering have you had from that increased CO2? What? nothing at all, damn must be the CO2 that melt the mountain? No, it's just normal temperature for Vancouver this time of year. though so, from what i remember when i lived there some few years back( BC place was brand new). it's funny when you think how much more money we spent for so little effect on reduction of CO2. I would live there again,no question. cost of living is just too crazy now. have a nice olympic jeff i still envy you. read the link it's nice info.

The Vancouver Olympics are emitting quite a lot of CO2 into the air via generators and such that are used on site and vehicles and such. However I live in Vancouver and, despite all of the CO2 being released, it is actually one of the greenest Olympics ever. With the newly built Canada Line which is a rapid transit LRT line people can get from the airport right to downtown Vancouver and a couple other lines can take you to about 4 different cities after that. The line does not emit any types of greenhouse gasses. BC also has 80% of it's total energy hydro-electrically meaning by dams and such. The second link and first image pictures a newly built structure known as the Vancouver Convention Centre. The second picture and third link shows the Vancouver Olympic Village. As you can see both of the construction areas use green roofs extensively. The fourth link allows visitors to view the energy consumption per day of the various venues of the 2010 Olympic games. If you click on the 'view chart' link underneath each venue you can see how much of an impact that particular venue has on energy consumption and compare it to what it would be if sustainable practices weren't used.
