    Each school is different. Keep that in mind. Second of all, teachers generally give out a syllabus stating whatever they require you to have. I recommend having the bare minimum the first day of school and buying everything later. For PE, well some schools have uniforms you will need to buy. Others, it's just shorts and some t-shirts. Of course, tennis shoes are a must (I've never seen anyone where stilettos while running...there's a reason for that) For English, obviously paper, pencil, and pens. Same goes to Algebra. I recommend pencils only for math though...seriously. A TI-83 is a good idea as well. Some schools have them for you to use at school though. Bio, you probably need a lad book. It looks like a composition book, but it has graph paper instead. They usually only sell it at staples (buy a couple, you'll need it almost every year). For drawing and painting, I'd wait till you meet your teacher and let him/her tell you what you need to buy. Some stuff is already there and you just need to pay a fee. I'd say some folders with that metal thingy in the middle of it (I cannot for the life of me remember right now). One or two binders...(haha. Some teachers want a binder for themselves. Unless it's ABSOLUTELY mandatory, don't. That gives you too much to carry) Good luck and have fun in HS!

Trust me, wait until the day school starts. All of your teachers will inform you of necessary materials needed for the class. If you'd like to get ahead, definitely get a binder that could act as a notebook for english, algebra, biology, and history. For P.E., make sure you have the right outfit. A sketchpad for drawing and painting would probably be helpful. Also, I advise not buying a calculator for algebra yet, because schools can be very picky on the calculators they require you to buy. this was my answer to someone asking if they should bring a pencil case to school. well i didn't use a pencil case until i was a senior (this last year), and before, all the other years, my **** was everywhere. lost alot of pens, pencils, highlighters, and other stuff. then i learned i NEEDED one. they keep you organized. yeah, for sure on the first day just bring like a pen/pencil, and like one notebook. all of your teachers have seperate lists on what you need. so you dont want to buy stuff you dont need or need stuff you didn't buy. i dunno about your parents, but mine would get so mad if we bought stuff then had to go buy more stuff. so just wait.

My answer would be just to bring a binder to eng. alg. Bio. and history along with calculators and pencils. At my school the teacher always (95%) tell us to bring more than what we need and it has you spending more money than necessary.

Wait until the first day of school. Your teachers will let you know what you need for the year. Just make sure you have paper and pencils and at least a folder to keep all the papers your teachers will give you. You could also have a binder for each of your major courses.
