How to get a raspy singing voice?

    Its hard to explain, but its either there when you're born or not. BUT! You can acheive it with any voice. The key is to sing from the chest and when you want to make a raspy sound just sorta switch to falsetto. Like when you hold a note, sorta rise the back of your tongue to your throat and let out more air than sound. This is easier to tell in person. Then again I have a naturally raspy voice. I can only give you an idea, but i'm sure you can achieve it! :)
