Thanksgiving what to wear...?

If it's been requested that you wear something "dressy", I'm sorry but I don't think that will work. I think that if your skinny jeans are black or a dark wash, they are much dressier. "Prep" doesn't equal dressy, especially to someone of your grandparent's generation. So, if nobody's asked you to look dressy, you just want to look nice, then I would say wear whatever you think looks nice. But, if your parents have grandparents have asked you to look your best, then I would wear the darkest (and least ripped) pants you have, even if they're jeans, and the plainest T-shirt you have. A T-shirt doesn't necessarily look too informal if it is an appropriate size (not to tight/short, not too baggy), if it is in good condition, and if it is more subdued in design. That means no flourescent colors, and preferably no writing on it. Just a plain shirt. As for your shoes, again I think it depends on if they're in good condition. If they're just regular black shoes and aren't old and beaten up, I think it's fine. You probably won't read this before you go, but if you don't have anything that isn't a band shirt in your closet, you need to go shopping! Probably you're quite young, but even if you're an older teen, what would you wear to a job interview, or church? Probably that's what your grandparents, parents, and anyone out of high school think of as "dressy".
