How much did you spend on your Thanksgiving dinner? This if for those of you who did the big...?

  • ...traditional dinner. I had a big dinner at my house and I made everything from scratch. I spent at least $300.00 not counting the flowers and other decorations.

    That was for 15 people and there were lots of great leftovers. Five families contributed to the feast, so the $380 figure is for all of us combined. This is a good question; we knew we spent a lot (both time and money) on the dinner, but hadn't thought about adding it all up. Now my other family members are waiting to hear how much other people spent. We had 2 turkeys (one regular, one chipotle), 2 hams, potato balls (something new to us), peas & onions, mixed veggies, sweet potato casserole, candied yams, mashed potatoes & gravy, stuffing, oven roasted potatoes, stuffed mushrooms, 3 kinds of cranberry sauce, salsa, olives, nuts, oranges, fruit salad, caesar salad, crescent rolls and about a dozen desserts. Totally amazing.

Ouch! and my family even helped with bringing food too. There's just no getting around it .... you want your Thanksgiving to be special and it costs.......with the wine, the big turkey, (we had a leg of lamb too), and all the trimmings........ but it's so worth it! Every enjoyed it to the max! I also bought my grandkids paper, stickers, scissors and glue sticks and we made a bunch of paper turkeys!! It was SO much fun!! :-)
