Was the Constitution Democratic?

For a muslim citizen in the democratic world what is most important: Quran or constitution of the country?

  • For the most western and non-muslim societies the main book of their religion have no power in front of the constitution of each country. For muslims, quran is more important than the official laws?

  • Answer:

Both are important: Muslims living in Western countries are commanded to abide by the law of the country they live in. If the laws of that particular country do not allow them to practice their faith then they are commanded to migrate to another country where they can be free to practise their faith. It is forbidden for them to do anything even small that breaks the law and thus put themselves into disrepute as well as their religion.

Quran all the way. But our religion does tell us to respect the laws of the nation we live in. As long as the law isn't conflicting with our religious beliefs.
