Best jazz songs with good trumpet solo's?

I brought my trumpet home for the weekend and need to practice good soloing ideas, anyone know of any songs (perferably one or two swing, but idc) that have really good trumpet solos ...show more

Answer:
I'd say Clifford Brown's version of "Cherokee" in his album "Study in Brown". He has a brilliant solo there, but I guess it would be hard to figure out unless you have a transcription, especially if you don't have much time. Try Miles Davis's "So What" on his album "Kind of Blue". It's simple, easy, but still melodic genius.

The best thing you could do is to search on Youtube "Dizzy Gillespie" or "Louis Armstrong". They are both trumpet masters. Louis Armstrong is more of a trad jazz/ swing player, and Dizzy is a mad bebop player (but he is my favourite trumpet player).
