    It's legal if it comes from the legitimate artist's page and the artist has enabled the "download" feature for his songs. It's not legal if some 12 year old kid created an artist fan page and put songs up for download. There are potential viruses that can come with the songs, but it's VERY unlikely. I'm not sure if Myspace hosts the songs or if they are hosted elsewhere. In case of the latter, viruses would be a little more likely, but I'd still doubt it. People that spread viruses don't generally waste time attaching them to files as big as MP3s. And you can put any MP3 song into iTunes, which you can then sync to your iPod.

It is only legal if it comes directly from the artists' page. The songs you download will go right into a folder as an mp3. I am not sure how you would get it to your iPod from there. So far I have not gotten any viruses from the songs I've downloaded.

i don't think myspace do that. unless the artist has this new account that makes artist be able to sell their music. i'm an artist, but i don't have it. i don't trust those guys. they'll misuse it.
