    Actually I do. Yes it has a iffy background behind it but it is just like a Jewish holiday someone celebrates it. And IT IS NOT FAKE!!! Not many Americans (but a good amount) celebrate it mostly people from Africa. It is a week long celebration and you light a candle (7 actually) just like Hanukkah (except the amount of candles are different). It simply celebrates unity, culture, and black heritage. Each day/candle means: 1. Umoja (Unity): To strive for and to maintain unity in the family, community, nation, and race. 2. Kujichagulia (Self-Determination): To define ourselves, name ourselves, create for ourselves, and speak for ourselves. 3. Ujima (Collective Work and Responsibility): To build and maintain our community together and make our brothers' and sisters' problems our problems, and to solve them together. 4. Ujamaa (Cooperative Economics): To build and maintain our own stores, shops, and other businesses and to profit from them together. 5. Nia (Purpose): To make our collective vocation the building and developing of our community in order to restore our people to their traditional greatness. 6. Kuumba (Creativity): To do always as much as we can, in the way we can, in order to leave our community more beautiful and beneficial than we inherited it. 7. Imani (Faith): To believe with all our heart in our people, our parents, our teachers, our leaders, and the righteousness and victory of our struggle. Also Kwanzaa symbols include a decorative mat on which other symbols are placed, corn and other crops, a candle holder with seven candles -- called a kinara, a communal cup for pouring libations, gifts, a poster of the seven principles, and a black, red, and green flag. The symbols were designed to convey the seven principles. The Black Candle – a film about Kwanzaa, Dashiki – A shirt or suit worn during Kwanzaa celebrations, Kaftan (boubou) – A dress worn by women during Kwanzaa celebrations, and a Kufi – A cap worn during Kwanzaa celebrations. And in my family we choose the 4th night to ive each other handmade gifts. Its a tradition and it is real; which means a lot to many people just like Christmas and any other holiday.

I've been answering questions in this section for a couple years now. In that time I've only come across a single person who seemed to legitimately and currently celebrate kwanzaa. I tried to encourage that person to contribute here, but he was so annoyed by the racist trolls and stupid comments people always make about the holiday that he just gave up and left. Kwanzaa just doesn't have the significance it once had.

I've never met a single person who does. I think it should be scrapped, it just causes more race division and tbh Kwanzaa is the dumbest holiday I have ever heard of. And yes, I do know a lot about it.
