    This isn't extremely old, but Rory Gallagher, as a blues guitarist, is highly underrated. He's a very good player too... I'd also have to say if you're talking old, (for blues) pretty much anything by Mamie Smith is getting to be kinda underrated..also all the old blues singers, who were women..they made such major contributions to the genre, but no one seems to remember them anymore.

Down In The Hole ~ the Rolling Stones / Wait 'til you hear it! ...how can I possibly stop here?

Have you ever listened to the Al Kooper, Mike Bloomfield and Stephen Stills (Super Session)? One of my personal favorite blues albums of all-time. Absolutely amazing. They were in the works of recording one of these super sessions with Hendrix, unfortunately it never happened. Check out the links. These are my two favorite jams on the album.
