Second day wearing contacts, and the corner of my eye closest to nose is red, and eye feels very dry!!?

I just got contacts, and one day when I put them on, the left eye corner, closest to nose got red... But my other eye is fine. The eye that got red is the eye that has astigmatism... ...show more

Did you sleep with them on? If you did, don't do it again. When I first wore mine more than 20 years ago I didn't have any problems although I was wearing them all day long. But some eyes are more sensitive than others. It may be the contacts themselves or the cleansing solution you use that cause the irritation. Anyway you should not wear contacts that irritate your eyes. Call your optician for advice.

I have been wearing contacts for about 5 years. Your eyes probably have to get used to them. If it doesn't go away in about a week you might want to go to the doctor because it could turn into an infection.
