I am thinking about becoming a professional blogger, but have a few questions?

As a blogger, you need to know what you are writing and you really need to know your stuff. Pro-bloggers are those who have in-depth knowledge of their topics. They became influencers and people listen to their opinions. I just linked up with a blogger who is 16 years old. He really knows his stuff(ie games). He writes well too. I don't think there is a age restriction in blogging. The only limiting factors are your knowledge about the aubject and creativity. I have not came across companies hiring a pro blogger but I have seen pro bloggers setting up their own business and provide talks, workshop and seminars. As a start, I would suggest that you become guest bloggers in other sites. From there, you can increase your presence and influence.
