The meaning of Easter -What does it mean to you?

Chocolate - end of.

It means God sent his son to die for our sins so we can go to Heaven.

The celebration of the Resurrection of Jesus Christ has nothing to do with Paganism. This greatest of Christian holy days has been celebrated for almost 2,000 years and is directly related to the Jewish feast of Passover which was celebrated for about 3,000 years before Christ. Neither of which is related to or based on Paganism. The popular observance of Easter has incorporated a couple of pagan symbols of fertility in rabbits and eggs but they have nothing to do with the actual celebration of the Resurrection of Jesus Christ. If some Christians want to do away with Easter bunnies and Easter eggs then I have no problem with that but do not throw Jesus Christ out with them. The English word "Easter" relates to Estre, a Teutonic (German) goddess of the rising light of day and spring. No one seems to know why this English word was used for the celebration of the Resurrection of Jesus Christ. The great feast of the Resurrection of Jesus Christ was celebrated long before the unchristian English word "Easter" was first used. And the celebration of the Resurrection of Jesus Christ is directly related to the Jewish feast of Passover going back to about 3,000 B.C.E. Most other languages use the Jewish/Christian word for "Passover" for the great celebration of the Resurrection of Jesus Christ that English speakers call "Easter." The Greek term for "Passover" is Páskha. It is the Aramaic form of the Hebrew pesach (meaning passover). Easter for the Christians is when we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ from His death on the cross. Jesus Christ died for our sins and so we need to have Jesus in our life as a born again Christian to receive God's forgiveness of our sins and get to heaven after we die someday. Otherwise, without God and Jesus Christ in your life, you go to hell (eternal suffering) when you die. Easter is about Holy Week, Lent, Good Friday, Easter Sunday. The eggs and rabbits are something else -- a pagan celebration of the beginning of spring. This is the Christian message and prayer -- most important in life, get some prayers and get God in your life. God is love and knowing God can transform your life. When you know God, your spiritual Father, then pray about your life, God can help you live a better life. As God is love, life is primarily about love and relationships in order to have a rich and full life. Also, you need to know God's Son, Jesus Christ, in your life as your Lord and Savior as Jesus died on the cross as payment for our sins. Having Him with you will give you God's blessing and forgiveness, as you live God's way. We need to know and follow God in this life so we can go to heaven after we die, and so we can get God's help now. Not following God leads to hell, eternal suffering. Instead, there is an important prayer to pray to become a born again Christian. This prayer should be said with faith in God and a sincere heart: "Dear God, I know that I am a sinful person and I don't want to be like this anymore. I know that Jesus Christ died on the cross as payment for our sins, and I want to accept Jesus Christ into my life as my Lord and Savior so I can receive God's forgiveness, guidance, and go to heaven someday. Thank you, dear God, for your mercy and guidance; in Jesus' name. Amen." This prayer can take you to a new place in your relationship with God and transform your life. After saying this prayer, you should check out a Christian church like Baptist, Catholic, Lutheran. The church can get you baptized and prayed for, and you can pray for yourself daily. Also, get into their Bible study group so you can learn more about God, Jesus, and God's will for your life. The Bible is God's instruction book about how to live a God-honoring life so you can go to heaven after you die. Ways to stay connected to God's path include loving God and Jesus Christ, obeying God's ways, daily Bible reading, daily prayer for yourself and others, getting to church or getting a church person to get out and visit you, group prayer, fasting with prayer for a higher level of prayer, getting with other Christians and doing a Bible study, singing hymns to God, taking communion with the church, helping and loving others, expressing your gratitude to God for His help in your life by telling others of your progress and helping them draw closer to God too. God guide your life.

Means family. Tradition in our family is easter eggs get hidden around the house then hunted for easter morning.
