Write down 'no' on the application, but if you get called in for an interview, you can tell them you lost a job because you broke a rule you did not know existed. This way you are being truthful. Forget about going to prison over their applications. They are talking about huge fraud. Eventually you will put distance between yourself and that firing. If you can get a former boss to write you a letter of recommendation, that can really help you.
