Just call and ask if she received your letter and resume. Then leave the rest of the conversation to her. If she says "No, it hasn't crossed my desk" (surprise) ask where you can fax or mail a copy. "I could even drop it by if that would be convenient for you." If she says yes, she will undoubtedly continue with some followup information. Odds are that you'll end up speaking with an assistant or with the human resources director instead of a senior vice president. I've never known a senior vice president of anything to personally do interviews for an assistant job.
