  • Answer:

I can answer this honestly and not give my thoughts like most questions. I went to school to be a MA, I graduated and started working in a doc's office. I was there for a year and got burned out of it real quick. Maybe it was the place, so dont think every place you will get tired of fast, because you wont. I started looking for a job and there are so many medical jobs for office assistants that I couldnt believe how many their were. I started as a receptionist, then our biller quit, so I learned to bill and then our accounts payable clerk, quit so I learned to do that and all I had was a MA background. I know the terms, so I just had to learn the software. Really depends on where you live as well. Check local jobs and see who has more open right, doesn't mean it will be open when your ready to decide because the economy can change, but you can atleast get a small idea. I also think office assistants make more then most medical assistants. Good Luck.
