NEED ADVICE ABOUT NURSING?

Please help, I need some advice about nursing, anyone been in the same situation as follow?

    I wonder what it is that isn't giving you satisfaction from your new role. Is it very different being a Band 5 rather than a student - responsibility, paperwork, etc. I guess you must have had placements in many different departments during your training so you must be fairly certain it isn't for you. Consider your transferable skills - medical knowledge, communication skills, etc. Don't give up too soon though - you may regret it later on. I would advise you giving it a year before you decide. Use that time to look around and see what else is available.

Don't give up so soon. ALL new RNs feel overwhelmed as a new grad, and jumping into a critical care setting is all that much more stressful. It takes some people a year or longer before they feel comfortable and start to enjoy their work. Identify what it is that you're not liking. Is it just that you don't enjoy hospital work? Would a clinic RN job be better suited to your personality? Or home health? Do you have a BSN, if so you could do Public Health Nursing for your local county / state government.

If you have only worked in one area you should try another job.There are many different settings in which a nurse can work.ICU is just one of many. If you are a new grad you may be feeling overwhelmed working in an intense environment.
