  well unless your really smart heres is how it goes , you need high school diploma or GED Undergrad- you need a bachelors normally , in almost or all med-schools , to get accepted , you can major in anything , typically they major in bioengineering , chemistry , biology , or any science , sometimes nursing , but you don't have to as long as you have a bachelors and finished pre-req , GChem , OCEM ,Biology , Physics W/ lab , also calculus and English , sometimes BioChem , or human anatomy and physiology . Jr. year of Undergrad you need to take the MCAT and get your AMCAS ready . Medical-school- if you get accepted , you go for 4 years , typically first year basic science and gross anatomy and physiology and 2nd year is advanced science than 3rd year is clerkship rotation and 4th year is internship , you get to chose were to go 2 month rotation (usually) . you need to pass the USLME , all the times it is given out (med-boards) and you get your diploma in medicine (doctor) now to become a pediatrician , you need to finish a 3 year residency , and if you want to specialize 12-36 moth fellowship in say neonatalogy ,but you don't have to unspecialize , you can stop at the end of your 3 year residency . so 4 year undergrad 4 years med school and 3 years pediatrics residency (maybe fellowship) so 11 years (maybe 12 or 13 depeding of your fellowship) so there you go
