If you want to be a nurse practitioner, you will be earning either a master's degree or a doctorate in nursing practice. Some schools are starting to transition to have all NP's earn the DNP degree rather than just the master's. Why wouldn't hospitals accept you with a higher degree? The higher degree makes you more valuable to any employer.
