I start a new college course this year - btec National Diploma in health studies. I know i want to nursing, but find it hard to decide what type. I thought placements would help me ...show more

With the nursing diploma course (or degree) the first year concentrates on all the different branches of nursing by giving you placements in them - Children (health visitors, school nurses, midwives - maternity/comunity), Mental health (acute care services, homes, drug/alcohol rehab services), Community (community adult nurses), Adult (hospital wards - medical/surgical, nursing homes) I don't think they do Learning disabilities as a separate part anymore. Year 2 and 3 concentrates on the chosen branch.
