Answer:
Its rough out there. People are losing their jobs and now there are double the amount of people looking and applying for jobs and less jobs to go around! It took me all summer to finally get a job after applying to everything too! Keep plugging away and sending out those applications and resumes...someone will finally say YES! As for money, sell everything you can (and dont need) though Craigslist Ebay or a garage sale. Start living frugally TODAY so you can get used to living with less. Good luck!

Have you followed up on those 4 interviews? Did you write a thank-you follow up letter to those that took the time to interview you? In those letters you put again your qualifications and address any concerns that might have come up in the interview. Put in their thanking them for their time and that you will call to follow up and see if any other questions need to be answered. Also, that you are very much interested in the job and look forward to working with them or for the company. That you are very excited about the position and how your skills can be brought into the company. Have you followed up on the interviews with phone calls to the people --- ask them if you answered all their questions, is there something else that they need... what is the status of your application. Thank them again for taking the time with you. Keep plugging away. Job searches are very very stressful -- what you are going through is what many others go through - you aren't alone. But at the same time, make yourself stand out with these little follow throughs.

While you didn't say what type of position you are looking for or your experience, education, etc. Unfortunately, have to say 4 weeks is nothing when it comes to a job search. I do have a few pointers -- 1. you have submitted your resume to 70-80 place....WOW!!! Are you sure you know what type of position you are looking for? Fine tune your search. 2. your resume must be perfect and appropriate for the type of position you are seeking. 3. be sure you are giving the company the information they are asking for. If they ask for salary requirements or history...give it. In this job market a candidate that doesn't provide all the Information the company is asking for can very quickly be passed over. 4. Register with temp and search agencies. Hope this helps and good luck!

Getting 4 interviews in 4 weeks is pretty good! Do you know for sure that you've had 4 turn-downs, or are you just assuming you have? Without any idea of the kind of job you are looking for, appropriate advice is a little difficult, but... 1. Have you sent thank you notes to the people who interviewed you? Thank them for their time, slip in a soft-sell about your qualifications for the job, mention something about the company that you really liked, and reiterate your interest in working there. See Yanna Parker's Website - http://www.damngood.com/ready/exmpl/thank-you.html - for a great example of a follow up. You can do the thank you by e-mail IF the company is an intense user of Internet technology, but your message may get snagged by a spam filter and never reach the reciipient. Snail mail is more reliable. If you haven't done it yet, do it now! 2. Have you followed up after the interviews with a phone call or other contact? If it's been more than a week, call up the recruiter or the manager to find out what's going on, what the next steps in the process are, and what your status is. Don't assume that they'll contact you. They may very well not contact you, waiting for you to contact them as proof of YOUR interest in the job. If you know what you want to do, identify the employers you'd like to work for who have those jobs open * If you don't know anyone who works there, approach them directly, via the Website or just walking (dressed for an interview) in the door with your resume in your hand. * IF you do know someone who works there, ask that person to give your resume to the HR people (many employers pay existing employees a bonus for referring someone who is hired - usually called an "employee referral program"). NOTE: If you have been turned down by one of the places where you interviewed, but you're still really interested in working for that employer, send them a "thank you" for NOT hiring you (eh?). Sounds weird, but it's very effective! See this article on Job-Hut.org for more information on THAT strategy - http://www.job-hunt.org/onlinejobsearchguide/article_rejection-into-opportunity.shtml Good luck with your job search!

it's a really tough job market right now you need to stack the deck in your favor. are you sending a cover letter with your resume? you can't send the same resume to different people unless you tailor it or your letter towards that individual job/company. also, do your homework - find out about the company and their products, it will help set up apart. it is stressful - but hang in there - something will break
