Can someone who has a physician license become a physician assistant?

  If they have an MD, 1.why would they need to go to a pa program?.. they should already know more than what is taught in a pa program.. 2. why wouldn't this person just be a Dr.? Lack of openings for Dr's?? I think not!! I'm a bit confused as to why someone would even consider doing that, but to answer your question .. I don't see why they couldn't.. They would be more educated and skilled than what a pa program would teach.. Please tell me you are not talking about yourself.. That you have an MD and would rather be a PA.. or even the need to ask this.. That would make me very scared due to the ignorance.. ahhhhhh
