What is a lightning tree?

Can we use the lumber of a tree that was hit by a lightning?

They are reffering to old tress that are still standing and could attract lightning because of there location. You can cut a lighting struck tree down and use the lumber if it was not damaged by the lightning strike.

I think the original notion was..If a tree was hit by lighting, it's very likely to be hit again..It's True.. It will eventually be hit till it dies....the sap in the tree has some effect, also sap filled landscape timber fence post..They'll blow-up, where all there is is wood splinters.

That's poppycock. It's perfectly fine to use, and there is no lighting "residue" which will somehow attract lighting again.
