What is Mecan (vegetarian food in Vietnam)?

I ate at this outstanding vegetarian restaurant in Hoi An, Vietnam called Lien Hoa (http://www.tripadvisor.com/Restaurant_Review-g293926-d1785631-Reviews-Lien_Hoa-Hue_Thua_Thien_Hue_Province.html) and had a delicious dish with "mecan" in it. We could not figure out what it was. (And please don't post saying "fake chicken;" that tells me what it's pretending to be, not what it is.) Thanks!
