  My husband is a game programmer and he loves it. He makes casual games right now. There are jobs around. LA is a big market. EA sports in Canada is big. Also there are several other areas in the country. Oregon, and Dallas as well. I think the big thing is the company you work for. Some companies like EA- the working environment is pretty poor. My husband did a temporary job for them a few years ago and he hated it. They work insane hours for only O.K pay. Other companies the environment can be very good. My husband used to work for a company that allowed him to make his own hours and it was a good and fun place to work. Now he has branched off on his own with a few people and started his own company.
