Haskell, Erlang, Scheme, Clojure, Standard ML, Ocaml, Scala⦠It's hard to beat Joe Armstrong's answer to this: What would I recommend learning? - C - Prolog - Erlang (I'm biased) - Smalltalk - Javascript - Haskell / ML / OCaml - LISP/Scheme/Clojure A couple of years should be enough (PER LANGUAGE). (via http://erlang.org/pipermail/erlang-questions/2013-January/071949.html) â¦though in my opinion you could skip C.
