What happens when you go to a job orientation ?

  A job orientation involves filling out paperwork and providing the employer with your social security card and license (a birth certificate is acceptable in place of the license if you do not have your license yet). You can sign up for direct deposit. You should have a voided check if you plan to sign up for direct deposit. You will need to know your bank account number and routing number. You will watch a video on acceptable work place behavior and what to do in the event of a fire or emergency. You will learn to swipe in and out. If your workplace has lockers you will be assigned a locker. You may take a brief tour of your workplace. You will learn when your training begins. Job orientation is not a time to discuss your work availability. That is usually all cleared prior to hire. You will not be put on the regular schedule until your training is complete. As a rule employers do not schedule around you.
