What does an A negative blood type signal?

What nursing diagnosis can i use when mother is Rh negative,blood type O. Baby is blood type B,Rh positive.?

• The mother had a negative antibody screen (indirect coombs) and her baby had a negative antibody scree (direct coombs).

  A woman is at risk when she has negative Rh factor and her partner is Rh positive. This combination can produce a child who is Rh positive. While the mother's and baby's blood systems are separate, there are times when the blood from the baby can enter into the mothers blood stream. This can cause the mother to create antibodies against the Rh factor of the baby. Thus, treating an Rh positive baby as an intruder. If this happens, the mother is said to be sensitized. A mother's sensitized body will make antibodies. These antibodies will then attack an Rh positive baby's blood,causing it to breaking down the red blood cells of the baby. In severe cases, this hemolytic disease can cause illness, brain damage and even death. In this situation, the Mother will receive Rhogam ( Rh immunoglobulin) throughout the pregnancy to prevent this. There is no way to know the baby's blood type or Rh factor until the baby is born.
