What does the law say about paying overtime over 8 hours/day, 40 hours/week, 80 hours/2 weeks?

in the uk, overtime is paid after your contracted hours, this can be at any rate set out by the employer in advance of you agreeing to the overtime. overtime cannot be forced unless there is a provision for this in contract of employment and must not affect the law detailed in the system below. We have a system in uk that allows people to choose if they want to work more than 48 a week, an employer cannot force you to choose and must not treat you differently based on choice.

I think it depends on the state but, I believe that an employer must pay non -exempt workers (non salaried) overtime for working more then 40 hours a week
