Do you think social work is a good field to go into?

    A PhD in social work is a research degree (not a practice degree). So if you want to go into research or academia then you need the PhD in social work. However, you will also want to earn an MSW on the way because with out the MSW you will be seriously disadvantaged in the job market. Social work is different than any of the other human service professions in this way. Most other degees (psychology & counseling) the PhD provides more clinical experience. In Social Work this clinical experience is heavily weighted in the MSW. As for money - - Teaching in social work does not pay great, but if you have a good research and publication record you can do well. DA

You could do something with schools and social work... maybe a couselor? I know two people that were social workers for the state and ended up quitting after a couple of years because it was so draining, and they hardly made any money.

god get out of school already. if you like to make people happy then i would recommend a massage therepist. or doctor, anything that has human interaction is a good job and since almost all jobs has human intereraction, as long as you talk to someone like on the street, you have fulfilled your daily making people happy needs. anyways if you like making people happy- giving me 1000 dollars would make me happy. lol. stop prolonging your school stay.
