Does the Georgia font go with the Android OS and what font is used instead of it?

  • Android renders the Georgia font so differently than Mac and PC that it made me think - does the Georgia font go with the Android OS at all? And what is that beautiful font (seriously, it one of the prettiest serif fonts I've seen) that Android uses on Georgia's place?

    Georgia is probably poorly rendered on Android because of the antialiasing engine (+ the font rendering engine). They are different for each OS and can be a challenge for engineers to tackle and get right (look at the same font on Windows and Mac OS, you'll understand what I mean). Droid Sans and Droid Serif were prominent in Android 2.x. http://www.google.com/webfonts/specimen/Droid+Serif
