It Sounds like a wasp..if it was a bee the stinger will still be embedded in your skin. It's worth checking - it will look like a splinter (wasps stings break off some times) rest your hand, it should stop hurting so much in a hour or two. you can put your hand in cool water to help with swelling. Keep an eye on your breathing, if you start wheezing go and see your doctor/hospital as you could be having a mild allergic reaction. Usually the pain will stop in a few hours if it doesn't decrease or starts getting worse go to the hospital. good luck.

You're probably allergic. Not severely since your airways are not closing up. But this happened to my foot when I was younger and I couldn't even fit it in a flip flop. I think it took about 3 weeks to mostly go away. So, if your job requires you using your hands, I would see a doctor to see if they want to treat it with anything. There will only be a stinger coming out if it was a bee. But, most people have allergic reactions to bees, so it might have been. It just depends, but I really don't recommend removing a stinger if your finger is already this swollen. So, yeah, you may want to see an urgent care place. (:

If it keeps swelling, see a doctor, you could be having an allergic reaction. It could be a wasp sting and there may not be a stinger. Make a paste of baking soda and water and put that on it. The Mayo Clinic site below has more information on allergies and first aid.

sounds like you are having an allergic reaction to the sting. pull it out with tweezers, take the stinger with you, and get to a doctor, now.
